Let’s Go: Bistro Moulin

Not many places can pull off an authentic, immersive European bistro experience in the States. Fortunately, Chef Didier has mastered it. Bistro Moulin is a foodies mecca… and a must stop dining experience in Monterey, California!

You’ll want to make reservations for this cozy and intimate restaurant... or partake in their carryout menu. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

While Chef Didier works his magic in the kitchen, the other half of this dynamic couple - Colleen Dutertre - takes on many roles as operating partner, wine-director and front-of-house Madame. Colleen’s ever-evolving wine list is a crucial element in the total bistro experience. The certified sommelier and French wine scholar dots her Carte des Vins with Old World gems from the finest regions in France, but also offers treasures from the Central Coast of California. Bistro Moulin attracts diners seeking the newest thing — even if it’s an old thing.

“We have a good product and are consistent with what we do,” said Dutertre, born and raised in Normandy, France. “I love seeing younger people come in here, trying escargot for the first time, drinking wine.” (taken from Bistro Moulin website)
